Alice Lucille Jackson
1942 – 2017
Alice Lucille Jackson returned home to her Heavenly Father on Dec, 6, 2017 at the age of 75, after a year long battle with glioblastoma.
Alice was born June 24th 1942 in Elmo, Utah to kind and loving parents. She had many brothers and sisters with whom she grew up with and learned life’s lessons.
Alice was the backbone and organizer of many parties. She loved cake decorating, gardening, Quilting, Painting, and canning, she enjoyed decorating for the holidays at her place of work. She very much looked forward to the road trips and parties with her sisters, (her very best friends)
She had many jobs in her lifetime and would take whatever was given to her, learn it and make the best of it, which includes running a small grocery store, working in the shoe repair, and clothing stores. Her latest job was working in accounts receivable with some of her sisters and friends
Alice was kind and forgiving in anything that was going on around her.
She was blessed with an amazing family, 7 children, 51 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren whom she raised with the same attributes she learned in her life, Compassion, Kindness, and forgiveness (let it go).
The most important thing in Alice’s life was to serve her Heavenly Father and to be an example by loving and serving others.
When our dear Alice was given the news she had terminal cancer, and was only given 3 months to live she made up her mind that she would make the best of it. She let the doctors know that she would prove them wrong and she would make it to her family reunion. With her positive outlook on life and determination she exceeded the expectations and lived for one year and one month, she spent the time visiting family, going on trips, and making arrangements for her time to go HOME. She was at peace and looked forward to meeting her Mother and grandmother on the other side.
We will miss our beautiful Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend but can find comfort in knowing that she is in a better place, young and enjoying her friends and family that she missed so much, free from pain and sorrow. We can just picture her and her mother Clara playing the classic card games “Crap on your Neighbor” and “ Shanghai Rummy” and having the time of their life.
