A. Lamoine Heaton, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, age 84 passed away peacefully on January 1, 2020, surrounded by his loving family in Murray, Utah. Born in Alton, Utah on Nov 18, 1935 to Wilford Allen Heaton and Ina Glover.

Lamoine served in the United States Army followed by an LDS Mission in Southern Far East (Hong Kong). He attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a dual bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies and American History. He married Evelyn Theresa Jones, later divorced. They had 4 children. Roland, Angela, Gary, and Robert. He taught American History at Butler Jr High and AP American History at Brighton High School and finished his career as Executive Director of The Granite Education Association.

He married Kerrie Lee Mabey on April 16, 1987 in the Jordan River Temple. Brought to this union were 3 more children Darren, Melissa and Tricia. They spent 32 happy years together. Words cannot express the magnitude of the loss in our family. Many summer days were spent fishing and camping with his family. He especially enjoyed fishing in Southern Utah, near his beloved childhood home of Kanab. His love of the gospel and his Savior Jesus Christ was a wonderful example to his family. Later in life he and Kerrie served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Maryland Baltimore Mission and the Salt Lake Inner City Mission. After retirement, he served for 15 years at the LDS Conference Center. At the time of his death he was a Supervisor at The Vivint Smart Home Arena. He will be dearly missed and loved by all his co-workers.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Carla (Woody) and brothers Jim (Hilda) and Verden (Alice). Survived by brother Eldred (Lavon), Sister in Law Hilda, wife, Kerrie and children Roland (Paige), Angela (Paul), Gary (ReNae), Robert (Stacey), Darren (Janet), Melissa (Scott), Tricia (Sammy), 21 Grandchildren, 3 Great-grandchildren with one on the way. His Grandchildren meant the world to him, they were constantly in his prayers.

Funeral Services will be held Monday January 6, 2020 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2925 E Bengal Blvd. Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. An additional viewing will be held Sunday January 5, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cannon Mortuary 2460 E Bengal Blvd. (7600 South) Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. Interment will be held at Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 E Bengal Blvd Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support.
